Information for Parents
Sea Rangers is a uniformed youth
organisation for girls and young women
aged
9 -21. Every member
makes a promise
of duty towards her God and the Queen and undertakes
a moral commitment |
|
| |
the Sea Ranger Association is principally
engaged as a parent body to groups of girls in Cadet Sea Ranger and Sea
Ranger crews which instruct and train girls of all ages, colours and creeds,
with particular emphasis on matters nautical.
It offers recreation and training in all
forms of boating and outdoor matters |
each crew is entirely self supporting and
runs its
own programme of activities and events. Crews throughout
the country are grouped together in
flotillas, and many flotillas organise
various joint activities and ventures, such as regattas, camps, training
etc. Training
is also provided at national
level for officers and girls, together with
an annual national regatta, enabling Cadet Sea Rangers and
Sea Rangers
from different crews to meet each
other
and make new friends |
|
| |
subscriptions are payable for each member. These
are
set by individual crews based on their overheads
and costs but they
include affiliation for each
member to the Sea Ranger Association and
public
liability insurance. |
